自定义国家是黄金国DLC加入的一个新功能,它可以使玩家在游戏中加入自定义的国家。
领土
自定义国家的建立从选择首都省份开始,之后可以添加新的省份。添加的新省份不能距离“本土省份”(与首都有陆路相连的省份)超过200单位。游戏开始时,所有距离初始省份400单位以内的省份都处于已探索状态,与此同时,如果选择了域外科技组(如定都加拿大的西欧组),那么该科技组的已探索省份同样可以被你看到。
花费
省份的分数花费依如下规则计算:
- 首都在神罗内20分。
- 每点发展度0.5分,再乘以地形修正;若首都在神罗内,再乘以1.2。
- 若省份商品为黄金,每点生产3分。
- 部分拥有特殊加成的省份有额外的分数花费,例如贸易中心。额外分数花费不受任何修正影响。
- 任何省份贸易力量修正都会增加分数(西兰海峡通行税+20、河口+10,重要天然良港和博斯普鲁斯海峡通行税+10)
- 沿海贸易中心15分
- 内陆贸易中心10分
- 如果当地有货物生产的修正,那么消耗分数也会增加(达拉斯科根,斯科纳,尼罗河三角洲等)

政府
君主
君主和继承人都是可以自定义的。拥有DLC 人权时配偶也可以自定义。
在最大化统治者技能的同时,最大限度地降低点其他成本,一个常见策略是使继承人和配偶不具备良好的人格特质,开始游戏后剥夺继承人或希望继承人和配偶在统治者死前自然死亡。举个例子,玩家可以在拥有一个6/6/6,花费36分的统治者,随后创造一个一个-24点的继承人与-3点的配偶抵消统治者。这就导致了统治者的总计成本仅仅为9,与拥有相同年龄的3/3/3的统治者且没有继承人或配偶的情况下,成本是一样的。

对于配偶而言,年龄并不重要。取而代之的是全全由能力点数之和计算的花费。
因此,在只计算能力点数之和的基础上,配偶花费可由-3点(0/0/0)至6点(6/6/6)。
政府
下表列出了所有自定义国家可选的政体(不包括科技解锁的政体)。有些政体需要花费分数,也有些政体需要满足一定的前提条件,比如特定的宗教或科技组。政府等级同样也是影响政体花费的因素,1、2、3级政府分别花费0、10、40点数。

1.18版本取消科技组的科研惩罚之后,所有的科技组分数花费也随之取消。取而代之的是,当自定义国家首都位于大洋洲、北美洲、南美洲或随机新大陆时,选择部分科技组将会花费75分,因为这些科技组自带封建制度思潮,会使得自定义国家对新大陆上没有封建制度的历史国家获得显著优势。东非科技组是唯一自带封建制度而没有“新大陆花费”的科技组。(如果你是部落政体东非科技组的话会没有封建思潮)
注:国家在游戏开始时显示的地图将包括其首都大陆和其技术组的本土大陆。例如,一个拥有北美和西欧科技组的自定义国家将从拥有北美和欧洲地图开始。需要注意的是,省份的发现在各科技组之间缓慢分享,因此要小心在新世界国家使用西欧等科技组而导致欧洲地图免费被传播。

统治者特质的消耗

游戏中有大量特质供你为君主、继承人及配偶选择。不同的特质决定不同的可触发的事件,因此君主特质是游戏中很重要的因素。
君主最多可以用3个自定义特质。第一个特质是于15岁时解锁的,而自定义国家要求君主年龄必须大于20岁,所以第一个特质是有所保证的。在君主到达25岁(需执政10年)后将会解锁第二个特质,40岁(需执政25年)后将解锁第三个特质。
继承人最多只能由1个自定义特质,这是因为获取后两个特质分别需要执政10年、25年。需要注意的是,如果继承人小于15岁,则不可为其指定特质。
同上,配偶也只能拥有1个自定义特质,且由于年龄原因必须拥有1个特质。需要注意的是,配偶的点数花费拥有*0.25的修正因素,这同时适用于特质的花费。
外形
国名、所有格、地图颜色与国旗无需任何分数即可随意定制。
其他事项
- 当游玩后期剧本时,自定义国家不会拥有任何理念组。
- 当满足条件时,由玩家创建的自定义国家可以点击成立其他国家的 决议 ,但是,他们的国家理念却不会改变。
- 最多只能有75个自定义国家(可以在游戏根目录/common/defines.lua中修改这一数值)
- 可以设定自定义国家的难度,来改变其最大点数。极难情况下是50点,随着每一级难度的下降,都会翻倍,直到极容易的800点。
